Because Asia is starting from a lower base, it has immense potential to develop its ESG framework to match those of Europe and the US. Vital for this to happen are the region’s regulators, who are mandating stronger ESG norms for businesses and investors. To be sure, some countries’ regulators are moving faster than others.
How is regulatory action bringing Asian countries closer to net zero? What are some of Asia’s stand-out transparency and disclosure regulations, and how are they transforming the region’s ESG landscape? What more needs to be done?
